Inside.news is the perfect place for faculty, staff and students to tell their colleagues about news and activities happening at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
This is your opportunity to submit articles about honors received, upcoming activities and other news of interest to others on campus. See examples of acceptable items below.
Please follow these guidelines when submitting items:
Write no more than 200 words to tell the basics related to your news item, and be sure to answer the following questions:
- Who?
- What?
- When?
- Where?
- Why?
- How?
All articles must also include a name, phone number and e-mail address for a contact person so that readers can get more information if needed.
Staff members from the Office of External Affairs will review all items before posting and reserve the right to edit as necessary.
Here are some examples of items that will be considered for publication on inside.news:
- Employee recognitions, appropriate for campuswide distribution, rather than in HSC News.
- Events that raise money for legitimate causes. Examples include taco or book sales for Gifts for Children and State Employee Charitable Campaign
- Volunteer opportunities sponsored by bona fide nonprofit organizations, including university organizations and United Way agencies
- Employee events, such as the annual employee picnic
- Calls for nomination to various university committees
- Town hall meetings
- Important news that affects the entire Health Science Center community, such as the annual benefits open enrollment and new campus-wide business processes
Please do not submit these types of items to inside.news:
- Campus events open to the public, such as lectures and performances. Those should be posted on the calendar of events.
- Items that are directed to a specific group of employees and will not be of interest to the entire Health Science Center community. These items should be publicized within your own department.
- Major events, awards or grants. These should be submitted to HSC News.
