Getting Started: Initially the cache must be cleared, (e.g., Internet Explorer: from the browser's Tools menu | Internet Options... | Delete Files button, (check off "Delete all offline content" then click "OK") | OK.

Before signing in you are viewing the portal as a "Guest"
  • The Welcome tab offers the guest a variety of information. Tabs can be clicked to display more viewable content (see Figure 1).


  • Information is organization by topic by way of tabs.

Signing In: After signing in with your UTHSCSA username and password:
  • The Welcome tab is replaced with the My Page tab, where the Portal Menu resides (see Figures 2 and 3).

  • Depending on your authorization, additional tabs and/or pagelets may display, as well as, additional links within the Portal Menu. Menu items can be selected from the Menu, left, or the Main Menu (Fan menus), right.

    • The "HSC Business Applications folder" (Fig. 2) may contain various links, such as: "Financials (WebReq)," "Student Administration," "DRS," "Data Warehouse," and "Online Employment System" links, for example.
    • The "Badge Number" (Fig. 3) is located in the " Reference & Inquiry" folder.

  • My Page tab can be personalize by adding or removing (check or uncheck) content and repositioning the layout. Click "Save" to keep your selection. You may personalize the label "My Page" by clicking on the "Content" link.

  • .
  • All other tabs contain required content in a fixed positions (Fig. 1).
    Summary of Upgrade Enhancements:
  • Portal now uses session level encryption in preparation for future applications (noted by the lock icon lock icon after signing on)
  • The Badge System inquiry has been rewritten and its interface made consistent with other Peoplesoft applications (Fig. 3)
  • Peoplesoft has delivered its "FAN" pages to improve menu navigation (click on Fig. 2)
  • My Portal Favorites has been replaced with My Links
  • The user name and date is now displayed in the Portal header upon login
