Employees and students each have a university mail
account. The Triage help desk often can troubleshoot e-mail problems.
E-mail accounts may be accessed remotely on the web.
Wireless Policy: Thanks to a grant from SBC Foundation the wireless computer networking (WiFi) has been expanded on the Central Campus and North Campus to cover most public areas and classrooms. Before this service can be utilized the laptop or PDA must be registered with T&N. Only portable devices will be registered per the Network Access Policy (HOP 5.8.7). This service is also available at the remote campuses. Call T&N Customer Services at extension 7-2061 for further information.
Network passwords need to be changed every 60 days.
Contact your department's
technical support representative, or the Triage
desk in the Computing Resources Department if you forget your password
or it expires.
Remote Access
Employees and students may access the university network from off
campus. Here are three ways to do so:

User Groups
Texas Macintosh Users Group: For individuals interested in using
computers, especially Macintoshes. Meetings are held the third
Thursday of each month. The public is welcome. - Next meeting: April 17th
from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in room 2.040. Topics: Filemaker 9 overview and Bento. Door prizes.
Windows Server Special Interest Group (WASIG): For people who support and administer Windows servers. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month. - Next meeting: April 10th at 2 p.m. in Room 494L MED (Computing Resources).
